Point Loma is located south of Mission Beach and west of downtown San Diego. It's not your typical southern California beach area as there is not a lot of surfing going on. There are lots of hiking trails, a beautiful cemetery and, what looks like navy/military racks. There is a fee to enter all the way to the end of the peninsula, or you can enjoy the many things and sights just before the gates.
