On a cloudy and cooler August summer day, the Reading & Northern Railroad operated their third and final "Iron Horse Ramble" excursion of the season. This trip originated from the new Nesquehoning Station and ran to the Pittston Station for the annual Tomato Festival.

This train ride through Northeastern Pennsylvania is like none other, so come aboard with us as we ride in the first available passenger car right behind steam locomotive #2102, a former Reading T-1 4-8-4 "northern" type. We are on the trackage of the former Lehigh Valley Railroad from the Coxton Yard, now the site of the Pittston Station, up through the Oak Street grade crossing, which is on the edge of the township as the railroad has to negotiate through several other towns in order to climb the grade out of the Wyoming Valley.

Turn up the volume for this one folks, because it's showtime!
