Lincoln Park Steps is one of the colorful staircases in the city at the edge of Lincoln Park on the Western end of California Street. There are 52 steps going up the stairs and there are benches at the top to sit down and enjoy the city view below before continuing to stroll through Lands End.

Lands End Trail is a 3.4 mile loop trail that offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, many different angles of the Golden Gate Bridge as well as beautiful trees, rocks and wild flowers. This trail is considered as moderate and primarily used for hiking, walking, running, or just plain relaxing and is accessible year-round. By far, one of the best places for a hike in San Francisco.

On the south western side of the trail is the Lands End Lookout Visitor Center where there’s plenty of parking spaces. Near the entrance, you can make your way to the lookout and get a full view of the ocean and the Sutro baths from above. You can hike down there via a dirt path and stairs to the right of the parking lot. The dirt path takes you down to both the baths and Point Lobos Lookout. These are beautiful spots you don’t want to miss and it’s ideal for sunset watching.

The Point Lobos Lookout provides a scenic 180-degree view of the area. From this point, you can hear the relaxing sound of the waves and admire the beautiful big rocks in the water and get a glimpse of the beautiful heart shaped rock in the distance.

We decided to hike down to Lands End Labyrinth, which is referred as the most beautiful secret of Lands End. The Labyrinth is on the edge of a cliff with beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge to one side and the Pacific ocean to the west. Finding the trail to the Labyrinth is quite tricky as it’s in the very end of the trail next to the Mile Rock Beach. We actually took the skinny pathway which is shorter but extreme caution is advised as it’s at the edge of the cliff while the other way can be accessed by more steep stairs and downhill walking.

On the way back, we used the stairs and that was a little tough and exhausting as we’ve already covered pretty much the entire trail. Make sure you bring water with you and find some place to stop and just relax to enjoy the view.
