Amparo Cequeda Rosas (née Alvarado), a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 1, 1937, in Santa Juana, a municipality of Padilla, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Amparo was a beacon of kindness, love, and strength throughout her life.

Amparo's educational journey began at Escuela Corregidora, where she absorbed values that would guide her throughout her life. On October 9, 1955, she embraced her faith, being baptized by Pastor Nicolas Menchaca at the Apostolic Church of Matamoros, Mexico. Her faith remained a cornerstone of her life as she was an active and devoted member of the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus, where she actively participated and found great solace in her faith.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her children Maria M. Lunn and husband Stuart D. Lunn, Jon Rosas and wife Stacey Rosas, J.C. Rosas and wife Tiffany A. Rosas, Domingo Cequeda Rosas and wife Georg-ann Flores de Rosas, and Ricardo Rosas Nieto and wife Maria E. Gonzalez de Rosas. Her legacy extends to her grandchildren Franklin S. Rosas and wife Ruby Davila Rosas, Berenice Rosas Gonzalez and husband Daniel A. Fuentes Rivera, Andrea R. Rosas, Petra E. Rosas Gonzalez and husband Neri O. Cázares Reyes, Josef A. Rosas and wife Felicia K. Rosas, Ciarra J. Trentman-Rosas, Emily M. Rosas, Chance A. Trentman-Rosas, Stuart D. Lunn II, Ethan M. Rosas, Isabella J. Rosas, Xander J. Rosas, Nikolas V. Rosas, and Joel C. Rosas II, as well as her great-grandchildren Franklin S. Rosas II, Alayna K. Rosas, Benjamin J. Rosas, André Cázares Rosas, Ayden B. Rosas and Constanza Cázares Rosas.

Amparo is survived by a very special extended family: Rosa I. Alvarez and husband Francisco Perez Alvarez, Dominique M. Creekmore and husband James T. Creekmore, Monica M. Baumhogger and husband M. Oliver Baumhogger, Maygan B. McElveen, Kelsey A. Duran and husband Matthew L. Duran, Aubrie L. Duran and Harper A. Duran. Amparo is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family that she loved dearly.

Amparo is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Ortiz Rosas (1978), her mother Manuela Cequeda Alvarado (1974), and all of her siblings Concepción Cequeda Alvarado (1959), Florentino Cequeda Alvarado (1991), Antonia Sequeda de Yonge (1998), Elidia Olvera Alvarado (2006), Simon Cequeda Alvarado (2010), Maria I. Martinez (2019) and Reverend Domingo Torres Alvarado (January 2024).

The funeral services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. The family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Divine Restoration Apostolic Church in memory of Amparo C. Rosas, at 925 Davis St, Pasadena, TX 77506.

Amparo's warmth and courage and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew her gentle spirit.

A visitation for Amparo will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Divine Restoration Apostolic Church, 925 Davis St, Pasadena, TX 77506. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at Grand View Memorial Park.
