Creating a New Hybrid by Crossing Epiphyllum with Dragon Fruit, Is It Possible?

I received a call from my mentor, Edgar Valdivia, to go to his house and collect a flower of his favorite Epiphyllum variety "Takuan" known for its vibrant orange flower. It’s rare for Epiphyllum to bloom this late in the season, making this opportunity special. I took the entire flower with me to attempt cross-pollination with a dragon fruit flower, aiming to create a unique variety with an orange flower. While there’s no guarantee the fruit will set, I’m committed to trying, as it is Edgar’s hope to see a dragon fruit variety with an orange flower instead of the usual white or red. #dragonfruit #pitaya #pitahaya #superfood #antioxidants
