The Famous Partition Function and Partitions that are Arithmetic Sequences

ABSTRACT
In this talk I will briefly discuss the famous Partition function along with the contribution of Ramanujan and Hardy towards an approximate solution. I will also discuss a special case of this function where the partitions can be casted as an arithmetic sequence. Specifically I will introduce a function defined on the set of natural numbers, that gives the number of ways a natural number can be written as a sum of the terms of arithmetic sequences. I will discuss some interesting properties of this function and relate our results to the concept of highly composite numbers as introduced by Ramanujan in 1915.
