Patrick Janssens has already tasted Derby success, everyone’s ultimate dream in the sport, when Thorn Falcon was crowned the champion in 2021 but he has confirmed the hunger to win it is still very much there. Emily Wallis visited him to check up on his team for this year's Derby, including exciting young prospects Barntick Bear, Slick Sabo and more!

A dog that has a fantastic record at Towcester is Miracle. He’s a lightly raced dog who already has some very quick sectionals but Patrick believes there is more to come off those which could make him a hard dog to lead in the competition.

Charming Girl, who was interestingly bred in Holland, is the only bitch in Patrick’s team but she certainly has plenty of ability. She finished second to Crafty Shivoo in the Empress Stakes over course and distance last September before making the Oaks semi-finals. She was in great winning form at Towcester at the end of last year before picking up an injury but, all being well, she’ll be back for a tilt at the Derby.

These will be joined by Droopys Doughnut, Edwards and Druids All Go who all have some impressive winning form around Towcester and will be looking to give Patrick his second Derby success.
