Gerard Way 2023 Interview Clips

Описание к видео Gerard Way 2023 Interview Clips

Footage of Gerard Way's masterclass/interview done on 11/28/23 for art high school students
sorry the quality is not great and shaky, I was filming super impromptu on my phone and was not expecting these clips to be posted publicly at the time :,)

Some general descriptions for each clip/chapter:
1) talking about personal creative pursuits, what led him to making music/art, how much of his art is a direct projection of his feelings, how he separates his public persona and personal identity, his philosophies on being an artist
2) processes for creating concepts, horror influences and favorite horror movie
3) relationship with commitment, costumes on tour, Joan of Arc
4) more philosophies on life for artists, what he uses to make concepts for art/songs, mentions foundations of decay at the very end
5) navigating rejection, making art in a commercial setting (lots of philosophy), being signed to a label
6) influential media/authors
7) why he's drawn to groups, understanding imagery/aesthetics in his work
8) thoughts on live action adaptations
9) advice for people who attend art school and don't pursue a career in the arts, doing what you love, talks a bit about how everything happens for a reason/has an impact on the stages of your life
10) asked for his favorite animal :)
11) continued clip of the animal question (he said a Lot) and then asked what for his favorite creative snack
12) before clip starts, interviewer said, "So I was doing a bit of trolling on the internet..." not knowing what trolling meant lol she meant doing research but yeah he talks about coolness or a lack thereof and his thoughts on it pertaining to him
13) asked for his thoughts on AI, gets a bit messy towards the end but that was the last question of the interview!

if anyone has questions or wants more context for anything I'd be happy to try and answer! I am truly so honored and grateful to have been able to experience this and I want to share what I can. Mr. Way was such a pleasure to have, very well spoken and down to earth. I hope he considers doing something like this again in the future because it's a great format for longer explanations (there's soooo much that gets cut out of interviews sometimes :,) so yeah! I hope this is enjoyable!
