Durga protima Visarjon // Bargaria Pratima Visarjon 2024 //

Durga Protima Visarjan, also known as Durga Visarjan, is the final day of the Durga Puja festival, where the idols of Goddess Durga, along with her family (Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha, and Kartik), are immersed in water bodies, typically rivers. This signifies the end of the festival and the return of the Goddess to her heavenly abode.

The immersion ceremony is a grand spectacle, with thousands of people gathering to witness the idols being carried in processions to the nearest water body. The atmosphere is filled with devotion, music, and dancing. The immersion is often accompanied by fireworks and other celebrations.

The day of Visarjan is also known as Vijayadashami, which marks the victory of good over evil. It is believed that by immersing the idols, people are symbolically releasing themselves from their sins and inviting the blessings of the Goddess for the coming year.
