Hall of Famer Dan Hampton was the heart and soul of the Chicago Bears defense of the 1980s. He didn't put up gaudy numbers like Richard Dent due to the nature of his position, nor was he as vocal of a leader as Singletary, but his consistent play and toughness set the physical tone that made the Bears infamous. He was capable of playing anywhere on the line and was always willing to be used where needed, whether that be on the edge as a potent power rusher, or head up on the center stuffing the run.
