When you travel across Nigeria, you begin to appreciate how big the country is. The city of Port Harcourt in Nigeria is fast becoming a mega city and is one of Nigeria’s leading industrial hubs.

I arrived in Port Harcourt feeling really positive. I'm staying here at Golden Cape hotel in a popular area of town called Peter Odili road. I got a very comfortable room and an amazing service.

In this video, i want to show you port harcourt like never seen before. We're heading to the city's administrative district and from there we will proceed to the city's industrial area. But first we will take a quick turn to see a bit of the biggest residential area in the city.

Port Harcourt popularly known as the 'PH City' is one of the beautiful places to visit in Nigeria. We are now turning into an area called New GRA in the city. This road leads inside different upscale residential areas.

Port Harcourt is one of the wealthiest cities in Nigeria in terms of gross domestic product and foreign exchange revenue from the oil industry, most of which is shared among the 36 states of Nigeria. The population of the metropolitan area of Port Harcourt is almost twice its urban area population with a 2021 United Nations estimate of 3,171,076 following the city of Lagos, Kano and Ibadan

Port Harcourt's economy turned to petroleum when the first shipment of Nigerian crude oil was exported through the city in 1958. Through the benefits of the Nigerian petroleum industry. Several multinational oil and gas companies currently have their country head offices and operational facilities here.

Following the Nigeria civil war, the easy money from the oil boom of the 1970s made it possible to quickly rebuild the city. But with the economic crisis of the 1980s and then 1990s, the city suffered under development until recent years. Currently the city Port Harcourt is one of the fastest developing cities in Nigeria.

We are now driving into the city administrative area which is also the state administrative district. Located in the heart of the city beside the state government house, central bank, city council, house of assembly, high court and other institutions in the city.

This is the rivers state government secretariat. in here is the tallest and biggest government secretariat in Nigeria apart from the federal secretariat in abuja. The rivers state secretariat complex is a cluster of about 6 nine storey buildings and the principal secretariat which is almost 20 storey high. Most government offices are centrally located here. This should help in the ease of doing business in the city since most government offices are in close proximity.
From the secretariat we headed to the Trans Amadi area.

Trans Amadi is an industrial as well as a residential district in Port Harcourt. It is one of the most popular districts in Port Harcourt as it houses some of the big multinational companies in the nation. The neighborhood supports a strong manufacturing sector and is considered to be a major industrial zone in Port Harcourt.

Peter Odili road is a popular residential district of Trans Amadi which in recent years has attracted a lot of wealthy people living and working in the city.

Aside from being the oil capital, Port Harcourt is also known for the vibrant late-night activities and entertainment scene. There are several public lounges, clubs, dance bars and restaurants spread out around the city. In another we will look look at other areas in the city and see there some of the richest people in Port Harcourt live.
