All the 12 workers trapped in the collapsed tunnel in Hunchun City in northeast China's Jilin Province have been rescued. After more than 80 hours of hard work, the rescuers finally broke through a channel and helped out the trapped workers. All the 12 workers were conscious while they were carried out of the tunnel, and some of them could even walk out by themselves. They were taken to the hospital immediately by the ambulances waiting at site, and will receive medical treatment there. The high-speed railway tunnel was under construction when it collapsed at about 02:00 (Beijing time) early Wednesday. The reason for the collapse is still under investigation.
