The customer, a charity organisation, had been told by Telstra that there was no existing NBN cabling into their facility, leaving them with no internet access. However, our investigation revealed a different story.
🏗️ The job began when we discovered an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) on site, connected to an MDF that had an existing copper pair range and even remnants of a Telstra fibre connection, although it had been decommissioned. Despite Telstra’s claims, we were able to trace the cabling from the IDF to the MDF using our advanced tools, proving that the infrastructure was indeed in place.
🔍 Through methodical fault-finding, we traced the cabling back to the MDF, confirming the presence of a live connection. We also consulted with other businesses within the factory complex, who had been successfully using phone lines and internet services for years, further supporting our findings. Despite this, Telstra insisted that no cabling existed, leading to unnecessary delays and frustration for the charity.
💡 Realising the need for a reliable solution, we bypassed Telstra’s flawed records and utilised the POI Checker from Aussie Broadband. This tool allowed us to verify that the customer’s address was indeed connected to the NBN infrastructure. We quickly transitioned the service over to Aussie Broadband, who offered a more cost-effective and efficient solution. Within a day, the customer was up and running with a high-speed connection, thanks to our persistence and expertise.
🚀 The result? A seamless internet connection delivering impressive speeds of 150-160 Mbps on a Fibre to the Node (FTTN) service.
