Statue of Liberty and New York City Lights & Skyline – oil painting tutorial

To celebrate 4th of July, Independence Day, I thought of doing an easy to follow oil painting tutorial. I combined New York Skyline, city light and the Statue of Liberty, to represent all the icons of America and freedom. I chose a 11*14 Centurion Linen Canvas panel for the painting, but can go bigger….

Here are a couple of ideas to transform this painting:

1) You could break up the painting into 2 separate paintings…. City skyline and lights and a separate one for Statue of Liberty

2) You could transform the city lights a bit and make it the city skyline for your favorite city!!
