The New Orleans Pelicans came into the 2022-23 NBA season with higher expectations than they’ve had in quite some time, and this is for good reason. With the return of Zion Williamson formulating the big three in NOLA alongside CJ McCollum & Brandon Ingram on the Pels, many were excited to see what they could do together. And while it’s been amazing, their big three might not even be the scariest part about their team.

The Pelicans role players & bench is already seeming to be so much better than most people probably expected. To start, you have Jonas Valanciunas as a very undervalued center, 2nd year players Herb Jones & Jose Alvarado who add so much to this Pelicans offense & defense, Trey Murphy III who is a sharpshooter, along with Larry Nance Jr, Naji Marshall, rookie Dyson Daniels, Devonte Graham, Jaxson Hayes, etc.

The New Orleans Pelicans are still extremely young, with a lot to prove, but this team under Willie Green only seems to be going up from here, and their 2023 NBA Playoff push might be one of the more entertaining things to keep an eye on in the NBA this year.
