Chess is a game made up of three parts: openings, middle games, and endgames. When both you and your opponent all played very well in the opening and the middle game, then the endgame decides the outcome, which means endgames are just as important as the first two stages.

International Grandmaster Artur Yusupov once said in the book “Dvoretsky’s Endgame Manual", saying that:"I also believe in the interactive effect of endgame study. It makes it easier to judge and use the potential of the pieces and to understand their interaction. So not only our endgame technique, but also our intuition and positional understanding are refined. In the endgames, plans must be found all the time - so it sharpens our strategic eye as well."
