Here you see the recording of real time aircraft traffic being vectored into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on runway 16C. Synced perfectly, are the actual frequency communications between the approach controllers and the pilots, along with the radar screen. If you enable CC (Closed Captioning) button, you will get the initial voice on text. Notice in the very beginning, you can hear the coordination efforts between the previous Air Traffic Controller about to go on break, and the relieving controller taking up the sector. This is called a Position Relief Briefing, where the exiting controller would explain to the relieving controller (behind the scenes) what is going on in the radar scope in front of them. You can hear him pointing out what some aircraft were instructed to do, what type of approach he was issuing to the aircraft, etc.

****TRANSCRIPTION OF FIRST 45 SECONDS ::: CONTROLLER-TO-CONTROLLER TRANSFER OF POSITION RELIEF (TOPR) BRIEFING****

"Okay, sir, Final South. If they're getting visuals it's not until down in here (points to screen) so I've just been doing "staight-in" ILS and "plane-to-plane" does not work any time I tried to do it. So I've just been "straight-in" ILS'ing. 170 is losing about a mile. Uhhhh... but I'm sure the Tower can see them by then if he needed it. Except for wake turbulence, so just be careful because "plane-to-plane" is kinda tough. Uhhh... no other special activities.

(starts showing the relieving controller his current aircraft situation on his scope as he has control of a few aircraft coming in to land)

(points to screen) Traffic... gone. (points to screen) Caution wake turbulence, 170 'til SODOE. (points to screen) Caution wake turbulence, 170 'til SODOE. (sneaks in an instruction to a pilot) Horizon Niner turn left heading 190 join the 16C Final. (pilot responds). (Points to screen) 6 only and 190 on the speed. (points to screen) Back to 170 there. You heard the turn on "no-clear". And that's all she wrote.

New controller responds "alright then". (starts giving instructions)
