Making an Insulated Door for My Off Grid Log Cabin, Painting Wooden Walls Ep.14

Описание к видео Making an Insulated Door for My Off Grid Log Cabin, Painting Wooden Walls Ep.14

The first frost of the season has arrived, so I'm focusing on doors in this video. I design and make heavy doors from pine and alder. I made a 4" thick wooden frame and added Styrofoam inside, this will help keep the heat inside the log house much more effective. The temperature outside sometimes dropped to -5 degrees Celsius, so I had to work inside the log cabin. Making the herringbone pattern was much more difficult than I expected, so it took me 3 whole days.
Now that the door is installed, I can comfortably work inside the log house. Also, at the beginning of the video, I painted the walls with motor oil, this will protect the wood from weather conditions.
Sometimes I take a break to play with my dog Joy, which helps me clear my mind and get back to work with renewed energy.

I Continue to build my own log cabin (on my 2 hectares) which will later serve as a sauna, shower and a small room where I can relax while building my real big house and my farm for me and my family. Next summer I plan to start raising livestock, maybe goats, sheep, chickens and cows. Also, my goal is to learn to live a more independent life.
All my construction and my life in the forest will be documented on this channel "Bjorn Brenton"
