Fall Cleanup Begins 🍁 Dividing and Transplanting A Favorite Perennial 🍁 Saving Seeds from Verbena

Our first frost has come and gone here in zone 5b/6a in Upstate New York. With it comes the first round of cleanup in the garden. First we are cutting back, dividing, and transplanting our Sun King Aralia. This versatile perennial grows to the size of a medium shrub in just one year and we are excited to add it to three new spots in the garden.

Second we are saving seeds from Verbena bonariensis, a must have annual for any cottage style garden. It is very easy and we show you how!

Lastly we are cleaning up the terrace containers. Eric stopped watering them a few weeks ago so they would dry out and be much lighter to empty. We will be replacing these containers next season with larger containers to simplify the display and go for a more uniform concrete look.
