2000 BMW 528i Touring Review

Описание к видео 2000 BMW 528i Touring Review

My thoughts on the 2000 BMW 528i Touring with the 2.8L inline 6 cylinder engine and 4 speed automatic transmission:

I’ve never disliked a BMW. I also love wagons. So take a guess as to how this review is going to go. Let’s start with the basics, the straight six engine. BMWs are known for their straight six engines, and for good reason: They work. Very well. They have phenomenal torque, and keep me impressed. That being said, this straight six is paired to a 4speed automatic transmission. While I do not care for autos, I didn’t let it ruin my BMW Wagon experience. The 4 speed isn’t the worst thing in the world. It’s a GM transmission, which is fine but not the best.

The important thing about the 528i is that it isn’t a 3 series, and there for is a lot higher quality than the 3 series’ of its day. Of the two automatic BMWs I’ve driven, I prefer the E39 over the E36. The 5 series is just nicer, and back in the day you paid for that. But today, 18 years later, you can pick up a E36 and E39 for nearly the same price. So why wouldn’t you choose a higher form of luxury?

The only reason I didn’t like the E39 was the gearbox. It’s a rear-wheel drive, straight six, wagon. What’s not to love? If you can find one in a stick shift, and yes they made them with sticks, then you found yourself one hell of a vehicle.
