After the success of Streets of Rage on Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, it was of course going to get a sequel and it came in the form of Streets of Rage 2 in 1992.

After Mr. X and his syndicate are defeated, crime disappears from the streets and our heroes, Axel, Blaze and Adam all go their separate ways. Adam is kidnapped by Mr. X and his Syndicate and crime returns to the streets. Axel and Blaze return to the streets with more rage joined by Max and Adam's younger brother, Skate, to rid the streets of crime once again.
