Guitar speaker comparison: EVM 12L vs Celestion Vintage 30 UK

Описание к видео Guitar speaker comparison: EVM 12L vs Celestion Vintage 30 UK

Hi guys and gals!

I have an 80s EVM 12L speaker and a Celestion Vintage 30 (UK made) in my guitar cab so I decided to do a quick shootout/comparison. Both speakers are 8 ohm and are wired in series.

IMPORTANT NOTE: EVM has been rewound a couple of years ago, so it might be a deviation in the sound and the character from the production speaker.

No postproduction was done on the recording other than a high pass filter at 100 Hz.

Speaker were recorded with Shure SM57 into a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (1st gen), and then edited in Reaper. Guitar used is a Schecter Fastback Diamond Series (Seymour Duncan JB - bridge; Seymour Duncan Jazz - neck, played with a split coil in the video). Amp is Victory VX Kraken, both channels were used with all setting around noon.
