The Spira Prime is the Prime variant of the Spira throwing daggers, featuring an increase in fire rate, reload speed, status chance, and critical multiplier in exchange for reduced damage. It was released alongside Saryn Saryn Prime and Nikana Prime. This is the Space Shish Kabob!

On December 6th, 2017, it was announced that Spira Prime, alongside Saryn Prime and Nikana Prime, would enter the Prime Vault and its relics retired from the drop tables on December 12th, 2017. Any preexisting components or fully-built weapons will remain as is.

The Spira Prime was originally released in July 2015 on the Chinese build of Warframe, along with Excalibur Umbra Prime and Nikana Prime.
The Spira Prime was unintentionally leaked in the Codex following Hotfix 18.4.7 (2016-02-04).
The drill tip on the Spira Prime spins, making it the only throwing knife secondary with a non-static animated model.
"Spira" is the Latin word for "spiral" or "coil". The weapon is named this way due to its spinning tips.

Thrown weapons in Warframe have never really a glory period, never really been Meta Weapons but you should not let that stop you from enjoying something as cool as the Spira Prime!

As with most thrown weapon it fires in the form of an underhand throw and an overhand throw. Both projectiles land in the same spot but they take slightly different routes. The fire-rate is solid, the trigger is automatic and the reload is lightning quick. Pity about the magazine being at only twelve.
Thankfully the critical stats are very good with a thirty base and a awesome three point zero multiplier.
Status chance however is a different story, being stuck and a modest fourteen percent. This would not be so suboptimal if we were not dealing with a only a few projectiles per second but it is what it is.

For a build I'd recommend going for the biggest wallop that you can with Corrosive and a touch of heat or you can go for even more critical chance. With the normal version of pistol gaming and hydraulic crosshairs you go over one hundred percent critical chance. And if that was not good enough the riven disposition is also high and the prices for Spira Rivens are super low.

While it may not be one of the best weapons in the game or one of the best secondary weapons period. The Spira prime makes up for it in subjective looks and at the end of the day when build correctly it will send enemies flying! Consider the Spira Prime.

Warframe is a free-to-play action role-playing third-person shooter multiplayer online game developed and published by Digital Extremes. Released for Windows personal computers in March 2013, it was ported to the PlayStation 4 in November 2013, the Xbox One in September 2014, the Nintendo Switch in November 2018 and the PlayStation 5 in November 2020.
