Richard came over again to help.

Really nice weather which helped get a lot done. First order of the day was to place the other half of the ridge beam, at long last the ridge is fully spanned structurally! To do this we constructed the temporary build platform as planned, it did not need the central post I had assumed it would, but Richard weighs about half what I do! Two doubled 2x6x16s and some OSB was sufficient - I had planned something far more over-built.

Things did not go particularly smoothly afterwards however, small geometrical errors accumulated causing a fair bit of rework to the gable frames for the east wall which ate up a lot of time. They should have been identical to each other and to the west wall, but no amount of level and square checking, measuring and active alignment would make them correct enough to level up the look-outs without some trimming.
