Hello Wonderful Interpreters,

We all need to be well informed before casting our vote to choose our union at the end of this month. As you know by now, WA INTERPRETERS has always exposed any wrongdoing resulting in harm to L&I interpreters and their working conditions.

Whether it is by holding L&I accountable, or by uncovering deceptive practices by WFSE/Local 1671 leaders, we have always done our best to fight for our collective rights and to defend our working conditions, while keeping you informed.

It is never easy to expose wrongdoing and deception by bigger unions or organizations, but it is a sometimes uncomfortable but necessary thing to do, especially when these deceptive unions like WFSE would try everything they can, in an effort to deceive you into voting for them, so that they can get your union dues.

While we do enjoy the support of the vast majority of L&I interpreters, we would like to invite those of you that maybe still be undecided to watch this entire video, so that you fully understand what WFSE has done to the L&I interpretation system, and why our working conditions would only continue to get worse, if by a miracle they become our certified union. Please share this video with every L&I interpreter that you know.

KEEP VERIFYING YOUR ADDRESS WITH PERC

As we are getting closer to the upcoming election for L&I interpreters, WA INTERPRETERS keeps working with the Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) to make sure that all eligible L&I interpreters receive a ballot to cast their vote. We want to thank all of you that have been cooperating this process by verifying your address with us, or by emailing your contact information to PERC directly, as instructed on the election notice posted on L&I's website.

WA INTERPRETERS stands for a real dual system where independent interpreters can contract with L&I without restrictions. We also support a web portal that works and pays interpreters on time, for those who would prefer a scheduling system.

We will all fix this system and improve our working conditions together, with everyone's input, when we win the election.
