A January nature walk along the Water of Leith to Colinton Tunnel which holds Scotland's largest heritage mural! Revitalised places like Colinton Tunnel become a destination point which draw in visitors far and wide. This is great because it gets more people out into the surrounding nature and can boost the local economy. It also encourages walkers and cyclists to explore further as they feel safer going through the tunnel. Particularly important in this case as the National Cycle Network runs through it. Using various sources listed below, I discover more about the tunnel and why moss and ivy grow on trees. I also come across an 18th century shell grotto!
