1 day in Thai Town, California. A section of East Hollywood commonly referred to as the 74th Province of Thailand. Los Angeles is home to the largest population of Thai people outside of Asia, and Thai town is home to many delicious Thai restaurants, Thai grocery stores, and Thai souvenir shops. We had so much fun exploring them all! You know you've entered Thai Town when you see the golden half angel, half lion statues that serve as guardians of the area. We started the day at Sapp Coffee Shop ordering Thai Tea, Thai Coffee, Boat Noodles "Beef & Everything" and Jade Noodles. We HIGHLY recommend all of that! It was fantastic, and so cool to be in an area with enough Thai influence that there were many dishes we had never seen before! We continued to explore, looking at the incredible murals, a castle for rent, Buddhist shrines, and landing ourselves at an incredible bakery called Bhan Kanom Thai! HOLY COW YOU GUYS! I had never had Thai desserts before. Where have these been all my life!?!? The Kanom Krok coconut pancakes were fluffy and phenomenal, the Kanom Bueng "Thai Tacos" or "Krispy Crepe" were a JOURNEY for your taste buds, the Grilled Sticky Rice with Banana I would GLADLY eat every single day, and the Pang Chi taro and corn fritter was such a familiar yet unique dish that I LOVED! Of course after all of that we were bursting at the belt loops, but we ordered a take out dinner from Jitlada to reheat later that night. The Spicy Taepo Chicken was so rich and flavorful!!! We highly recommend you explore Thai Town if you live in the area! It was a blast!

Welcome to madventure, we're MADison and iVEN (okay it is spelled Ivan, but pronounced like VENture) a husband and wife living the adventure we have been dreaming of, despite the fact that it makes us sound completely mad. For us that looks like traveling full time and starting our own businesses.
For Madison, a former reality TV producer, the dream is the madventure community, connecting people through travel, experiencing new cultures, and trying the best foods from carts, stands and restaurants all over the world. She hopes to encourage others to follow their maddest most adventurous dreams, whatever they may be!
For Ivan, a former NASA engineer, it is creating an engineering product that will change the world!
