(5 Jul 2012) Families of the 228 victims who died when an Air France jet crashed into the Atlantic in 2009 awaited investigators' final report into the disaster on Thursday.
The French air accident investigation agency BEA (Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis) is to release its final report into the crash of the Airbus A330 jet en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris.
"We are not afraid of having the truth," said John Clemens, who lost his brother in the crash.
"We want to have the real explanation of what happened and as well recommendations from the BEA on how to prevent this kind of accident from happening in the future," he added.
A preliminary report released last July described a confused crew getting incoherent speed readings from faulty sensors, but it didn't draw a conclusion on what caused the crash.
All 228 people aboard the flight, died when it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on June 1, 2009, after running into a strong thunderstorm.
It was the worst accident in Air France's history.
