Borys Kharchuk - hero of Ukraine from the 95th Brigade, arrived in Philadelphia for the arm prosthetics and leg rehabilitation. Borys previously went through 3-month rehabilitation at our center Next Step Ukraine in Irpin, Ukraine. His mother brought him to our center in a wheelchair.

Borys Kharchuk served in the 13th separate airborne battalion of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. He has been fighting at war since February 24, 2022. During the full-scale invasion, a group under his leadership repeatedly destroyed the enemy forces. In mid-June during the enemy attack, Borys suffered fractured injuries and lost a third of his left arm.

On October 14, 2022 he received the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Golden Star Order, for his personal courage and heroism, revealed in the protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the loyalty to the military oath.

On April 11, 2022 Borys was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the II degree for his personal courage and selfless actions shown in protection of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and the loyalty to the military oath. He also received the Order of People's Hero of Ukraine.
