Qatar is in talks with Iran and Turkey to secure food and water supplies. Its biggest suppliers, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, have cut ties with the import-dependent country. Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that discussions are under way over possibly freezing Qatar's membership of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League. Saudi Arabia, several other Middle Eastern nations and their allies have accused Qatar of funding and sheltering terrorists. Riyadh says Doha must drop all support for Palestinian group Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood before ties can be restored. The United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, has warned that anyone caught showing sympathy with Qatar could face up to 15 years in prison.
