Madhukori Mahotsav | A Documentary by Ekathara Kalari

Madhukori Mahotsav is a short film that showcases glimpses of 3 days Annadanam seva that was taken up at Sanatan Siddhashram, Birbhum in January 2021.

At Sanatan Siddhasram every year in the month of Magh (January) the annual celebration of offering to the Gurus is celebrated through Annadan. Annadan is offering the sacred prasad to the divine in the human form. Where thousands of people are fed.

This year the prasad was served in four adjacent villages by reaching out door to door.

This short documentary of 15 min is about the possibilities within the tradition how it celebrates through all situations or times.
This is a documentary of Annadanam Seva named " Madhukori Mahotsav" by Ekathara kalari.

About Parvathy Baul
Parvathy Baul is Baul Sadhika , practitioner of the ancient Baul path. She undertook rigorous practice in the traditional path of Bauls of Bengal under the guidance of her Gurus Sri Sanatan Das Baul and Sri Shashanko Goshai. She is one of the most acclaimed ambassador of this tradition. She is currently setting up traditional Baul school called Sanatan Siddhashram in Bengal. Her aim is to further the pursuit and practise of Baul path systematically under the able guidance of the traditional masters.

About Ekathara Kalari
Ekathara Kalari is a space for sadhakas(practitioners) from the traditional knowledge streams of art, spirituality, theatre, puppetry, music and healing. Merging the concepts of the ‘Akhara’, a space for Baul practitioners from the Bengali tradition, and the ‘Kalari’, the traditional Kerala theatre practice space. It was founded by Shri. Ravi Gopalan Nair and Smt. Parvathy Baul in 1997.

Sanatan Siddhashram, near Shantiniketan, Bengal, is the Gurukul that houses all the work of Ekathara Kalari. It is active as a vibrant space that embodies inner practice in all forms of artistic and spiritual exploration, based on the foundation of healthy and holistic living.
