And sure the picture of my face was once mighty fine,
and people used to want to see it all the time,
but now my skin is less like silk and more like a rind,
and my teeth are falling out of my head so I stay inside.

Well can it be this vanity's insanity and I'd rather be a fucking freak, a distant geek, anything but that once perfect greek that had the perfect hair and everybody cares about what I wear but now they stop and stare and they say hey what happened to your face what happened to my face every fucking day.

Well frankly I'm glad I look the way I do,
I don't attract you or your friends from the shallowest ends of our gene pool.

Because fame is just a bunch of strangers that have seen your face,
and the best of them might attach it to a name.
But are you just indulging in peoples private shame
to beat back insecurity another day.

Because you're all alone or your talentless
or you need to get stoned or you've never been kissed
or you drink when you're mad or you fuck when you're sad
or you wish that you had what other people have
or you eat your own weight every goddamn day because you don't have a friend that's got the heart to say hey are you ok?
Are you ok?
I'm not a stranger and I feel your pain.

Well how will I ever find a way to repay that simple kindness that you've shown me every day.
How will I ever find a way repay that basic love that you've given to me every day."
