TITLE: BEE GEES
LOCATION: LONDON, UK
DATE: 19 & 20 MARCH 2001

In the wake of the release of their new album "This Is Where I Came In", the Gibb Brothers - aka THE BEE GEES - performed a one-off gig to an intimate audience at BBC Broadcasting House in central London last night.

The group, who were reportedly paid the highest amount ever for a one-off gig for a past event in Germany, decided to go for a smaller venue to give their fans a first taste of their latest recordings.

Over the past few years, it has seemed that never a week goes by that a Bee Gees track isn't covered, and so the group went back to the studio to record some more genuine Bee Gees songs.

The album "This Is Where I Came In" was written, performed and produced by the three brothers, over the past three years in their adopted home in Florida. The album title will also be the name of the first single, which describes how the trio are going back to their roots on their latest project.

They feel that the sound of the falsetto voices they projected in the Seventies is not the only thing the group was originally about. On this album they have, among other things, both Barry and Robin alternating the vocals on their tracks.

Although the Bee Gees are intrinsically linked to the Seventies, the group have maintained their success throughout the past two decades and still have a massive following today.

There have been an astonishing 500 successful covers of Bee Gee songs, including versions by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, George Michael, Diana Ross, Boyzone, Janis Joplin, Steps, and Barbra Streisand. Even now, Destiny's Child are in the process of recording "Emotion."

The group have won 7 Grammy awards, 27 Ivor Novello awards, and are the only group to have five records in the US Top Ten at the same time. On top of that, they are listed in the Guinness Book of Records as "the World's Most Successful Family Group."

The album "This Is Where I Came In" is out on April 2nd.
