The last supercycle (1999 to 2008) was supported by the rapid expansion of industrialization in the BRICs countries and an erosion on the US dollar since the Dotcom bubble in 2001. The new supercycle has similarities with the previous one: specifically a weaker dollar because the Federal Reserve joined the club of the zero-interest rate policy (ZIRP). There are also such differences as an increase in government spending and a higher risk of inflation given that this time, the QE is feeding through to the real economy.
