Sometime during the final weeks of recording for The Cookie Store's "PARADE!!!", Jouquin Fox went to go pick up Rail G (of Staring at the Sun) at his apartment like what normally happened during those recordings, but during their morning smoke session, a feeling inside Jouquin's gut quickly snowballed into a vision--- "We have to record a duo album." Over the next 3-4 days, Vellum Bristol, sometimes enlisting the help of Choice (of Staring at the Sun) for samples and sometimes whole instrumentals, made some beats for Rail G and Jouquin Fox to destroy. They ate and left no crumbs.

JOUQ THIS RAY is filled with scenes of friends in a small room, open windowed and filled to the brim with blunt, joint, and bowl smoke; giggles accent the room's sonic atmosphere of astral jazz, psychedelic rock, movies, and interviews sometimes muted so we can hear one another open up. A world of love, encouragement, perseverance, and finessing the systems whiile keeping on, even when they're waterboarding you as you poke holes to see through-- why you're where you're at.
