How to fix a table fan that won't start

Описание к видео How to fix a table fan that won't start

If you have a table that suddenly won't start spinning, or takes a long time to spin up, don't junk it!

If the problem is just tight bearings, it can be an easy fix.

After a long time of usage, the spinning parts inside the fan can get sticky with rust, dust and other dirt.

All you need to do is to add some anti-rust (I used WD-40), and add some lubricant after.

STEPS IN THE VIDEO:
Unplug from power supply
Remove front cage
Remove front nut
Try to spin the fan with your hand. If it feels tight, then you know it's a problem with the bearings
Remove rear cage
Remove casing front screws
Remove fan swing knob
Remove casing back screw
Now you have exposed the insides of the fan. If it's dusty, take a moment to vacuum the dust away to prevent it from clogging the bearings again later.
Apply anti-rust like WD-40. Get it into the spinning parts, then wait a few mins (I forgot to use the small spray nozzle for more accuracy)
Put the fan blades back on the shaft and give it a spin with your hand. It should be easier to spin now
Then, add a few drops of all-purpose lubricant oil
Finally, reattach the casing, rear cage, blades, and front cage and turn it on

It should be good as new!
