DIY Toilet Fix: Replace a Fill Valve (Part 1 of 2 - Fill Valve and Stop Valve Fix)

In this video, I walk you through Step 1 of replacing a faulty toilet fill valve—a common issue that many homeowners face when dealing with a toilet that won’t stop running. This is Part 1 of a two-part series, designed to help you tackle both a toilet fill valve replacement and a toilet water stop valve replacement.

In this first video, I demonstrate how to replace a bad toilet fill valve. A faulty fill valve can cause water to continuously flow into the toilet, even when it should be off. However, you may also be dealing with a faulty water stop valve, which can make turning off the water completely impossible.

If you try to shut off the water using the water stop valve and water continues to run, this likely means both the fill valve and the stop valve need to be replaced. That’s where Part 2 comes in—I'll show you how to replace the toilet water stop valve in the next video!
