Without spoiling the vlog too much, I'd consider this payback for the trainwreck that was the 2023 Gateway Race Trip. What a race and what a weekend for the city of Milwaukee, Indycar, and race fans like me who make the journey to see what possibly was the best two races of the season. (Unless Nashville manages to top it in two weeks time.)
To set it up, the Indycar Series at this video point in time was the 3rd to last race of the season; the first of two at the historic Milwaukee Mile. With many drivers hungry for their first win of the season this is the best place to do so. A true track of multiple racing grooves, an old and bumpy track surface, and a track that is brutal of tires. This race would test a driver's skill and strategy the most out of any on the calendar. (Not like other races where you have to be entitled enough to drive a Penske to win.) The championship leader and defending series champ Alex Palou (of course) had a 44 point lead to Will Power and a 68 point lead on Colton "Big Chungus" Herta in 3rd. Palou is looking for back to back championships and 3 in 5 years. Chip Ganassi is looking to make it 4 championships in 5 years. Palou hasn't won on an oval yet in his career. Power the seasoned veteran has quite a few oval wins to his name. This could make the championship boil down to a tight finish between Palou and Power with a slight chance of Herta to sneak in the back door if the top 2 have problems in the doubleheader. The Milwaukee area has waited 9 years for this race and the enthusiasm and attendance proved it better than any crowd for a race that I've been to. (Considering that's 2 races at Gateway and one at the IMS Road Course Race that may not mean a whole bunch.)

We will be back in two week's time for a Travel Vlog for the Indycar Finale at Nashville Super Speedway!
