When the cameras roll for The Fishmonger, they don’t just film a show—they shine a light on the real people who keep our coastal communities alive.

In this behind-the-scenes video, we take you aboard for something truly special: the making of an entire episode of The Fishmonger, filmed with us—Fish Tough—right here in Port Orford, Oregon.

Tommy Gomes, the legendary waterman behind the award-winning series, came back to film our story. Not just because we fish hard, but because of how we do it—hook and line, by hand, with integrity. He believes in our fishery, our crew, and our commitment to doing things the right way: sustainably, transparently, and in service to our local community.

Tommy has always fought for the small boat fishermen—the underdogs, the independents, the ones who get up before dawn and haul gear whether the ocean cooperates or not. He knows what it’s like out here. He knows the fight we’re in to keep local seafood alive and accessible. And with The Fishmonger, he’s built a platform that gives voice to the fishermen, dock workers, families, and coastal towns that are often forgotten.

That’s why being featured on Season 4, Episode 1 was an honor. And when the crew came back to film a full episode with us, we knew we had to capture the story behind the story.

This video is that story—from our perspective. We filmed them filming us.

From launching in the dark to setting our longline gear, to hauling fish for market and sharing laughs on the dock, this is raw, honest, and real. You’ll see us navigate both out and back through Hell’s Gate—some of the most intense and breathtaking boat footage we’ve ever captured. It’s as real as it gets.
