Ruqyah refers to the Islamic practice of reciting specific verses from the Quran and supplications (duas) for healing and protection from harm, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. It is a form of spiritual treatment rooted in the traditions of Islam, particularly the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Some of the most common and widely referenced verses and surahs used in Ruqyah include:

1. Surah Al-Fatiha (1:1-7) - The opening chapter of the Quran, which is often recited for protection and healing.
2. Ayat al-Kursi (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255) - A powerful verse that speaks of Allah’s sovereignty and protection over the universe.
3. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286) - The last two verses of this surah are often recited for protection from harm and evil.
4. Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4) - A short surah affirming the oneness of Allah, often recited for spiritual fortification.
5. Surah Al-Falaq (113:1-5) - This chapter seeks refuge in Allah from all kinds of harm, including magic and envy.
6. Surah An-Naas (114:1-6) - A prayer for protection from the whispers of Shaytan (Satan) and evil entities.

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself would recite Ruqyah for protection and healing, and encouraged his companions to do so. Some hadiths that reference Ruqyah include:

• Sahih Bukhari, Book 71, Hadith 633: The Prophet (SAW) said: “Make use of the two cures: honey and the Qur’an.”
• Sahih Muslim, Book 26, Hadith 5440: The Prophet (SAW) permitted the use of Ruqyah as long as it did not contain any elements of shirk (associating partners with Allah).

In practice, Ruqyah is recited with faith in Allah’s power to heal and protect, and should not involve any practices or beliefs contrary to Islamic teachings.
