The NFL Today
CBS used the song "Horizontal Hold" for its broadcasts of 'The NFL Today' between 1976-1982. The network revamped the theme for the 1980s in time for the 1983 season and it was pretty much used until the end of NFC coverage in 1994.

When the AFC arrived in 1998, CBS updated "Horizontal Hold" a few more times before deciding to utilize the E.S. Posthumus theme "Rise To Glory" in 2003.

This is the theme CBS used for its NFL broadcasts between 1981-1986.
