In January 2022, the NIC Technical Assistance Branch hosted a community of practice webinar for alert and warning practitioners. Dr. Jeanette Sutton (University at Albany, SUNY) presented research findings on how to write effective alert and warning messages and how individuals react to messages that they receive on mobile devices. She also discussed the message design dashboard project that her team is building to support emergency managers who seek to create and issue effective alerts. This video is a recording of her presentation and the question and answer session that followed it.
