Hey, it's Mike Delsignore outside of Waltham District Court. Want to talk about what happens if you're charged with domestic assault and battery of the Waltham District Court. These charges are very serious charges. If you're not a citizen in particular, it has very serious immigration consequences. But whether you're a citizen or not a citizen, you should have a lawyer for the arraignment. These charges don't get dismissed or dropped. Often people think, "Well, my girlfriend, my wife, they want the charge dismissed. They don't want me to get arrested." They're still going to proceed with the case. They'll try to prove the case even without the cooperation of the so-called victim in the case, even if that person is not on board.

So remember that. These cases just aren't resolved on the first court date. You're likely going to have to set the case down for trial, and you should know that there are ways that they can be prove the case, even if the victim is not on board as far as being on the government side to prosecute the case.
