Tawang Girls Shine in State-Level Football Trials: Dolkar and Lhamu Selected for Arunachal Team

TAWANG, August 17, 2025: In a proud moment for Tawang district, two talented young footballers, Tsering Dolkar and Lobsang Lhamu, have earned their place in the Arunachal Pradesh Senior Women’s Football Team following the State Level Selection Trials held in Yupia on August 15, 2025.

Organized under the expert guidance of Team Coach Tarh Sumpi and Senior State Football Coach Kipa Bharat, the trials brought together promising athletes from across the state. The event showcased the growing strength and enthusiasm for women’s football in Arunachal Pradesh, with players demonstrating exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination.

Dolkar and Lhamu’s selection is a testament to their dedication and the rising sports culture in Tawang. Both players are now preparing to attend an intensive training camp in Itanagar, scheduled to begin within the next 3–4 days. The camp will serve as a crucial phase in shaping the final squad that will represent Arunachal Pradesh in the Zonal Round of the Senior Women’s National Football Championship, to be held in Diphu, Assam from September 4 to 8, 2025.

The trials also saw active support and encouragement from prominent figures including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy CM Chowna Mein and several sports officials and enthusiasts who continue to champion youth development and athletic excellence in the region.

As Dolkar and Lhamu gear up for the next chapter in their sporting journey, their achievement stands as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the state—especially young girls who dream of making their mark on the national stage.
