Once upon a time, a mighty Lion was very annoyed by a tiny Gnat buzzing around his head. The Lion shouted, "Away with you, vile insect!" but the Gnat wasn't scared at all.
The Gnat asked the Lion, "Do you think I am afraid of you just because they call you king?". To show how brave he was, the tiny Gnat flew right at the Lion and stung him on the nose. This made the Lion so angry that he roared and tried to hit the Gnat with his big paws. But instead of hitting the Gnat, the Lion only scratched himself with his own sharp claws. The Gnat kept stinging him until the Lion was so tired and sore that he finally gave up the fight.
The Gnat felt like a hero! He buzzed away as fast as he could to tell the whole world how he had beaten the "King of Beasts". But because he was so busy bragging and not looking where he was going, he flew straight into a spider's web. The Gnat, who had just defeated a huge Lion, ended up being eaten by a tiny spider.
The Lessons of the Story:
• Don't ignore the small things: Sometimes the smallest enemies or problems can be the most dangerous.
• Don't let pride make you careless: Just because you win at something doesn't mean you should stop paying attention to what's in front of you.
Think of it like this: Imagine a soccer player who scores a great goal and starts doing a big victory dance. If they are so busy celebrating that they don't notice the game has started again, the other team might run right past them and score! Winning is great, but you always have to keep your eyes open.
