Streaming Live: Chicago Public Schools families rally for more buses

[Chicago, Illinois] — February 2, 2024 — The CPS Parents for Buses coalition is organizing a protest that will take place on February 6th, 2024 in Daley Plaza, 50 W Washington St, Chicago, IL, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.  Scheduled speakers include Hal Woods-Chief of Policy for Kids First Chicago, Jessica Handy-Executive Director of Stand for Children IL and Dr. Carmen Palmer-IL PTA District 25 Director. We have so many different groups coming together to support access to education. We will also have parents of children whose buses were canceled by CPS this year, sharing their stories.  Attendees of the protest are advocating for the immediate initiation of a transportation allowance for students who were promised transportation only to have it revoked by Chicago Public Schools just three weeks prior to the start of the ‘23-’24 school year.
