When I'm not scoring films, I work at a family owned winery in California. Here we produce and bottle many varietals including Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, and Chardonnay. One of my favorite things to do is to arrive in the early morning before anyone else and record various tools, equipment, wine bottles, glasses, etc that I later sample.

I decided to take this opportunity to use our only empty tank (as the rest are filled with wine from our most recent harvest) and sing inside of it. The beauty of singing in this 550 gallon stainless steel tank is the way the reflections create slight overtones. Soon here, you will see some of my other "winery sample libraries" hit Pianobook as soon as I can find a way to create some clever GUI's.

In terms of mic usage, I blended my Zoom H4N with my iPhone mic, apply subtle EQ and compression to both to create the desired sound.

I also decided to create a "wet" (aka processed) version. Here I automated the following plugins to create larger, deeper, and more layered version of my contribution.
