Convection Experiment | Heat

Описание к видео Convection Experiment | Heat

This video demonstrates the heat transfer process of Convection through an exciting experiment. We have a round-bottom flask, tripod stand, candle, matchbox, straw, and a few potassium permanganate crystals for this experiment.

By placing the candle below the flask, we observed that the water mixed with pink color rises up. The pink water near the flame gets hot and rises up as the hot water expands, becomes less dense and rises. This hot water is replaced by the cooler, denser water that surrounds it. The cooler water on the sides of the flask now moves down towards the source of heat. This cold water gets hot and rises upwards. This process continues and a convection current is set up and this is how heat is transferred in liquids.

Hence, we observed how heat transfer takes place through the process of Convection.
