How to use the Maximier (brick wall limiter) in Final Touch iPad

The final stage of the mastering process in Final Touch on iPad is to add our brick wall limiter, known in Final Touch as the maximizer.

The maximizer helps increase the volume or "loudness" of your master to ensure that it is competitive with other mastered songs when played back. This is achieved by "limiting" the track, which means the overall volume is brought up which in turn "squashes" the peaks of the track.

The risk will over-limiting is that you can remove all the "dynamic range" of the song, making it too "squashed" in an attempt to make it as loud as possible. The key to mastering is to get your final mix sounding loud enough, without completely removing all the dynamic of the song by making every part at a very loud level.
