Hyderabad Rains: Kilometres-Long Traffic Jams, Power Cuts In Hyderabad Amid Heavy Rain

Heavy rain and thunderstorm lashed Hyderabad and several other parts of Telangana on Tuesday, throwing life out of gear. The downpour led to waterlogging on roads in several places in Hyderabad, leading to disruption in electricity supply and traffic snarls. Several trees were also uprooted due to strong winds

The heavy rain, which lasted for nearly an hour, inundated the roads in a few areas, throwing vehicular traffic out of gear. Several kilometre-long traffic jams were seen in central Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Madhapur and Gachibowli. Traffic congestion was also seen from the Raidurgam Biodiversity junction to IKEA and other stretches on the IT corridor.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, the location of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) head office received the highest rainfall of 84.5 mm rainfall during 8.30 am and 6 pm on Tuesday.
